An academic first: a new prize, the Dialog International GmbH Advancement Award, was awarded today during the bachelor degree award ceremony at the College of Applied Languages of the Munich Language and Interpreting Institute (SDI) www.sdi–muenchen.de

The Dialog International GmbH Advancement Award, which carries a financial prize of € 500, was handed over to Ms Christine K. Haselwarter by Christa B. Zander, Managing Director of Dialog International GmbH, herself a graduate of the SDI and a conference interpreter and technical translator. Ms Haselwarter's bachelor thesis scrutinized the merits of two German translations of the novella Breakfast at Tiffany's by Truman Capote produced over 40 years apart, and provided a comparative evaluation of the two critiques.
